What is it?

Mount Triglav is the highest mountain in Slovenia, at 2,864 metres. Its name means 'three-headed' and you can see its three peaks on the Slovenian flag.

Tell me more

Triglav sits at the heart of Triglav National Park, the only national park in Slovenia and one of the oldest in Europe.

Many Slovenians try to climb Triglav at least once in their life - there's an old saying that you aren't truly Slovenian until you've stood on the summit.

The mountain is surrounded by alpine meadows, deep gorges, waterfalls, and bright turquoise rivers like the Soča.
