When Jerudong Park first opened in 1994, it had some of the most exciting rides in all of Southeast Asia. People were so excited that huge crowds came to enjoy the attractions. There was even a live concert stage where famous international musicians performed under the stars.
The park is set in a large green area with gardens and wide open spaces. On weekends, families set out picnic blankets on the grass, children run between attractions, and the smell of food from the stalls drifts through the warm evening air. It is one of the most popular places for Bruneians to relax together.
Over the years the park has been refreshed with new rides and attractions. Today it includes go-karts, an amphitheatre for shows, fairground games, and plenty of food. Visiting at night is extra special because the rides light up with thousands of coloured lights reflected in the sea air.
